Please note:
The default delivery will remain as remote delivery via Microsoft Teams administered by CPD@UCS. This is reflected in the content/ timings as stated. Should Government policy/University of Chester policy change we will revert to face2face delivery if/ when appropriate.
This 4-part introductory training is for prospective childminders who are required by Ofsted to have completed a course that enables them to understand and implement the requirements of the Statutory Framework for Early Years Foundation Stage (2021) prior to registration.
The cost for all 4 parts is £40 and this is payable when booking Part 1.
NB: Please note all 4 parts of the training must be accessed to enable certification.
Outcomes
Outcomes for Part 1:
Delegates
will have the opportunity to:
- Explore
the definition of Childminding
- Consider
what is required to set up and run a childminding business
- Learn about the role of Ofsted, the purpose of registration and the requirements and process to become a registered Childminder with Ofsted
Part 2:
Delegates
will have the opportunity to:
- Review the statutory requirements
of the revised Early Years Foundation Stage (2021) in relation to
learning, development and assessment and the two non-statutory documents
(Development Matters 2021 and Birth to Five Matters 2021).
- Discuss the observation,
assessment and planning cycle within the revised Early Years Foundation
Stage (2021).
- Devise a curriculum overview to support your children’s needs and interests.
Part 3:
Delegates
will have the opportunity to:
- Explore
the definition of Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) and what
this means in practice
- Understand
that every provider must have a Special Education Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo)
and what their role and responsibilities
- Know where and how to access support for children with SEND
Part 4:
Delegates
will have the opportunity to:
- Discuss the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Safeguarding and Welfare requirements and explore what these looks like in practice
- Understand the policies and procedures required by Childminders to meet the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Safeguarding and Welfare requirements
