Please note:
The default delivery will remain as remote delivery via Microsoft Teams administered by CPD@UCS. This is reflected in the content/ timings as stated. Should Government policy/University of Chester policy change we will revert to face2face delivery if/ when appropriate.
To
outline the statutory requirements on schools and governing bodies/boards in
terms of how they manage general complaints;
To
consider best practice and recommendations regarding a school complaints
procedure and complaints committee proceedings.
Outcomes
Schools
will have an understanding of:
- Managing
concerns before they become complaints;
- Statutory
requirements and relevant practical guidance;
- The process of
dealing with complaints;
- The role of the
governing body complaints committee;
- The role of the Clerk and complaints committee proceedings;
- Managing serial complaints
