Please note:

The default delivery will remain as remote delivery via Microsoft Teams administered by CPD@UCS. This is reflected in the content/ timings as stated. Should Government policy/University of Chester policy change we will revert to face2face delivery if/ when appropriate. 

A networking event for primary staff to be provided by CPD@UCS and led by the National Association for Pastoral Care in Education, (NAPCE) The inaugural networking event will last one hour and 30 minutes online for staff in pastoral roles or with an interest in how to motivate and support children and young people to enable them to achieve their full potential from their education. 

The Networking events will be led by Phil Jones the National Chair for NAPCE .The agenda for the initial networking events is.  

·         National headlines/ initiatives – a filter of key aspects of development

·         Changes and new influences as a result of pandemic

·         Best practice

·         Determining local demand through networking.

Outcomes

Schools will:

  • Be aware of current issues about pastoral care and support for learners.
  • Be aware of changes and new influences that have emerged because of the pandemic that they will need to be consider in planning effective approaches to supporting learners to enable them to achieve their full potential.
  • Have opportunities to share good practice in pastoral care and supporting children and young people that they care for
  • Identify priorities for future training and support to enable schools to provide effective pastoral care and support for all their learners.
