Content
To
provide Designated Safeguarding Leads and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads
with a mandatory update to Newly Appointed Designated Safeguarding Lead
Training.
The
course is delivered virtually and is split into 3 modules. Attendance at and
participation in activities during all 3 sessions is required for certification
purposes.
Outcomes
Designated
Safeguarding Leads will receive updates to their last DSL training in order to ensure
they have the ongoing knowledge and skills required to carry out their role as
outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education.
The
training will aim to:
- Provide
updates to key pieces of legislation or statutory guidance relevant to
their role (including key updates to Keeping Children Safe in Education)
- Refresh
knowledge on the key activities required to ensure there is a whole
school approach to safeguarding in their setting.
- Refresh knowledge of the local approach to safeguarding children in Shropshire in line with Shropshire Safeguarding Community Partnership arrangements, processes and practice guidance.
- Provide updates on any key pieces of local and national learning and research relevant to their role in order to promote evidence-based safeguarding practice.
