This briefing is for both new and existing Safeguarding Link Governors.

 

Note: Newly appointed Safeguarding Link Governors, please ensure that you have completed the Governor/Trustee (including newly appointed safeguarding links) Safeguarding and Child Protection Training before attending this briefing.  

 

Briefing to update Safeguarding Link Governors on any local or national developments relevant to their strategic leadership role in fulfilling their school’s safeguarding arrangements.  

Outcomes

Safeguarding Link Governors will:  

·       Receive national updates to ensure their school’s compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education and any other relevant safeguarding requirements. 

·       Receive local updates from Shropshire Safeguarding Community Partnership (SSCP) including information on any themes trends which relate to safeguarding issues in schools 

·       Allow for information sharing/peer support between Safeguarding Link Governors  

·       Identify priorities for support and further guidance
