Audience
Y6 teachers responsible for the administration for the end of KS2 assessments
This course will also be of interest to senior leaders responsible for assessment and moderation. Schools wanting to support transition may wish to send Y4/5 teachers alongside Y6 teachers.
Course Content
This course enables Year 6 teachers and senior leaders to understand the statutory requirements for KS2 national curriculum assessments and reporting for 2023-2024
Delegates will have the opportunity to:
- understand any changes to assessment for 2023-2024
- understand the statutory requirements for KS2 national curriculum assessment
- familiarise themselves with how to use the teacher assessment framework and the exemplification materials to make judgements for pupils in writing at the end of KS2 in 2024
- briefly consider strategies for in-school and cluster moderation of writing
- be updated on external moderation of writing
- review previous years KS2 test materials in reading, mathematics and EGPS

- Knowing about the key changes to assessment
- Being confident in using the teacher assessment framework to make robust and accurate judgements for pupils in writing at the end of KS2 in 2024
- Knowing how to administer the KS2 national curriculum tests in reading, mathematics and EGPS
